Creating a customer

This article explains how to create a new customer with Payment Bear.
Customers

Creating a customer in the Payment Bear app is simple and will save you valuable time when invoicing the same individual or business in the future.

You can create a new customer in two ways;

-       From the Customer Dashboard

-       When creating a new invoice

Creating a new customer from the Customer Dashboard

The Customer Dashboard is the central location for creating and managing all customer data. You can access the Customer Dashboard by pressing the ‘Customers’ tab on the application navigation.

To create a new customer, select the ‘+ New Customer’ button in the top-right of your screen. This button will open the ‘New Customer Panel’,where you can enter the relevant information about your customer.

Creating a new customer when creating a new invoice

The Invoice Dashboard is the central location for creating and managing your invoices. You can access the Invoice Dashboard by pressing the ‘Invoices’ tab on the application navigation.

To create a new invoice, select the ‘+ New Invoice’ button in the top-right of your screen. This button will open the ‘New Invoice Panel’,where you will enter the relevant information about the invoice.

The first section of the ‘New Invoice Panel’ captures your customer information. To add a new customer, select the ‘+ New Customer’ button, which will take you to the ‘New Customer Panel’ where you can enter the relevant information about your customer.

Adding customer data

You can add the following information for your customers:

1.    Name – this could be the name of an individual or a business you are invoicing

2.    Email – a contact email address for the individual or business

3.    Telephone – a contact number for the individual or business

4.    Address – a contact address for the individual or business

5.    VAT number – the registered VAT number for the individual or business (if they are VAT registered)

This data can be updated in the future and will update across any invoices you have saved as a Draft. Please note: created invoices will not be updated when making changes to the customer data. To update a created invoice, you should first create a duplicate for the existing invoice and update the customer information of the new, draft invoice.
